Imagine a prosthesis that feels like an extension of yourself, not a replacement.

Ear Prosthesis

Conditions such as traumatic ear amputation, unsatisfactory reconstruction or untreated microtia/anotia (ear malformation) can be corrected with the fabrication of a custom ear prosthesis.

Microtia

A prosthesis is an excellent option for microtia when surgical reconstruction is not possible or the results obtained with previous surgeries are not as expected. Depending on the degree of microtia, the prosthesis can be retained only with the remaining anatomy, the use of adhesives or the installation of osseointegrated implants. We carefully analyze each case individually to determine the best treatment option.

Intrinsic characterisation process

Personalisation and details

The entire process is personalised, the prosthesis you will receive is unique and especially made for you.

Materials

I manufacture ear prostheses using the best quality medical-grade silicone, this material has been tested and is suitable for direct application to the body without producing adverse reactions.

Retention

Retention with medical-grade adhesive is a common fixation method because it is non-invasive, allows for accurate replication of prosthesis margins, and is easy to apply.

Another highly effective retention method involves using osseointegrated implants with magnets or clips. This process is longer and more expensive as it requires surgery and not all patients are suitable candidates. However, you will be presented with all treatment options during your evaluation appointment, and you can then decide which one best suits your particular case.

The Process

The creation of each prosthesis involves many technical laboratory procedures. Below, I will outline the process through which we will collaborate:

We have an evaluation appointment in which I present the best rehabilitation option for your case, explain the entire process and resolve your doubts.

We start by creating a mould, which will be used to model the prosthesis. The opposite ear serves as a reference for this process.

En la siguiente cita podrás ver cómo la prótesis toma forma, compartiremos algunas horas mientras determinamos la orientación, tamaño y posición de la oreja realizando varias pruebas.

Then, we determine the colour palette that matches your skin. This will allow us to create an initial prosthesis, followed by a final colouring appointment to provide additional details.

Your prosthesis will be ready at your next appointment. We'll ensure you can put it on and take it off with confidence and provide care and cleaning instructions.
